This superb rare specimen is highly desirable because it is large, pristine, and has very high contrast against the surrounding matrix which makes for a stunning beautiful display. Often, the fossil preparator will highlight parts of the fossil with a colorant to increase contrast and/or fill in missing parts. This is not necessarily a bad thing as long as it is revealed to the buyer. For this specimen, colorant was *not* applied anywhere, in any amount, not even along the repair that runs through the tip of the caudal and anal fins. Since restoration is zero percent, 100% of the coloring is natural. This fossil is probably the best example of this specimen that you’ll ever see.
