Age: Permian
Species: Captorhinus Magnus
Formation: Arroyo
Location: Lawton Oklohoma
This is a very rare fossil permian reptile. Its known as a Captorhinus Aguti. This is a real fossil and is not a cast or model. The bones are Black on this one because it comes from the upper layer in the quarry that has more Pyrite mineral in it. It was found in a soft clay and all the bones have been cleaned and the reptile composited on this matrix. We mount it in a 3-D mount to give it a nice look. I have shipped them all over the world with no problems. The skeleton is 12 inches long with a 2 inch skull. There is about 20% restoration and only about 10% to the skull. All the teeth are real. The skull comes off for safe shipping.

The matrix is off white shale (fragile) size is 5.5 X 4.6″. Matrix has cracks around the edges but does not affect the specimen. The paraffin wax has moved away from the edges, because of temperature change but can be reset.
Hoptoad is from late Jurassic, middle Miocene. The specimen measures 3.25 inches. This was originally purchased for an investment from Brotherhood rocks and fossils in China. It shows wonderful detail. The legs show venation. The distinct head thorax and abdomen are in superb condition.

Cambrian Soft Bodied Invertebrates I
All specimens on this page are from the Mount Simon Complex, Cambrian of Wisconsin. The fossils are all soft bodied organisms preserved as organic stains and 3 dimensional fossils in a quartzitic sandstone. The specimens have excellent preservation including structures rarely seen. Originally thought to be Pre-Cambrian these fossils are now acknowledged as being Cambrian and in some cases the last examples of their type in the fossil record. Many are still undescribed but a paper has been written/presented by the University of California.
