EONS: L58 EXQUISITELY DETAILED & RARE 18 CM LONG NEEDLE FISH FROM LEBANON

DESCRIPTION: A rarely seen member of the Order Aulopiformes, and Family Dercetidae. This specimen is a member of the bony fishes known as “needle fish” due to its slender elongated body shape. The upper and lower jaws together extended into a beak which gave it a further streamlined form. This specimen is extremely desirable because even the tiniest bones are exquisitely preserved including the almost never seen ultra-fine pectoral fin. No restoration and no tint added. But it has been repaired as shown.
