This fossil bird track and raindrop combination is a very rare collectors item.  It is tough enough finding the bird tracks but to find this combination is almost impossible.  What you’re looking at is a moment in time back in the early Eocene, when shorebirds crossed a mudflat on the shores of ancient Lake Uinta in Utah.  Shortly after the birds left their tracks, there was a rain shower.  Just enough rain to make the imprints but not enough to destroy the bird tracks.  There aren’t many specimens like this one, it is a real prize.  The last two I had went to a museum in Utah.
